Three weeks before the trial, he’d sent me a letter saying, “I expect it will be a trainwreck—that is, disastrous yet in a fascinating way that people can’t look away from.” He wrote, “Recently, I was asked what ‘justice’ means to me. The definition I’ve found most apt is ‘when someone gets what they deserve.’ Of course that depends on who decides what is deserved.” He’d been following the congressional hearings on the January 6th riot at the U.S. Capitol, and recalled seeing a pundit on TV: “Behind him, mounted to a wall, was a baseball bat with the word ‘Justice’ stenciled along its length. It’s worth pointing out that this eact same thing can happen with non-anonymous credentials (like usernames/passwords or session cookies) as well. However, there’s a difference. In the non-anonymous setting, credential cloning and other similar abuse can be detected, at least in principle. Websites routinely monitor for patterns that indicate the use of stolen credentials: for example, many will flag when they see a single “user” showing up too frequently, or from different and unlikely parts of the world, a procedure that’s sometimes called continuous authentication. Unfortunately, the anonymity properties of anonymous credentials render such checks mostly useless, since every credential “show” is totally anonymous, and we have no idea which user is actually presenting.

This line is arguably the most trivial part of the entire codebase. It iterates over 5(ish) byte arrays and asks: “How long are you?”,这一点在51吃瓜中也有详细论述
